Name: Mary Estrera

What do you do outside of blogging? I’m a freshman at a Seven Sisters college who loves roller skating, thrifting, and adding lots of glitter to my etsy shop.

Favorite musical: Little Women! It’s bursting with dynamic female characters, the orchestrations are dreamy and lush, and you can’t help but wish you were a March sister.

What are you interested in blogging about this summer? I’m interested in the use of musical theatre as a vehicle for change and how theatre uniquely analyzes social behavior, politics, and human nature. And high belters/riffers.

What are your non-theater interests? Haim, crystals, Studio Ghibli, and documentaries about government conspiracies.

Favorite contemporary MT song: “Party Worth Crashing” from Tales From The Bad Years. (Honorable Mention: “I Haven’t Got a Prayer” from Allegiance.)
