Ordering, Downloading, and Opening Your Sheet Music: An Overview

Purchasing, downloading and printing your digital sheet music at NewMusicalTheatre.com is an instant, secure, four-step process.

Step one: Find your sheet music Use our search tools to find the unpublished musical theatre song you've been looking for, or maybe even a new song you've never heard of. Add it to your cart, and when you've finished shopping, click "Proceed to checkout."

Step two: Enter billing and payment information If you don't have an account, you'll be prompted to create one. Enter your name, email address and a password to create an account, then fill out your billing and payment information. Everything is completely secure, and you'll complete your order without ever leaving our site. You'll also have a chance to review or edit your order before hitting submit. Please make note of the CREDIT CARD NUMBER YOU USED TO PURCHASE YOUR ORDER.

Step three: Download your sheet music After hitting "submit," you'll receive an email containing links to PDFs of all the sheet music you've purchased. (If you don't receive the email within 5 minutes, check and make sure you're using the same email account you used in your NewMusicalTheatre account profile, and that the email didn't go into your spam folder.) You may also access your PDFs directly from your NewMusicalTheatre account: while still logged in, click on My Account followed by "Download Sheet Music." You'll be able to see all of your purchased sheet music, and even download an entire order as one large combined PDF file by clicking "Download Songbook."

Step four: Unlock your sheet music You'll need the most current version of your preferred PDF reader (such as Adobe Acrobat or Preview) to open the file. Click on the PDF file or open it in the program and you'll be prompted for a password. That password is THE CREDIT CARD NUMBER YOU USED TO PURCHASE YOUR ORDER (with no dashes or spaces). Remember to make note of this number, as you will need it every time you want to open your sheet music. Passwords for previous orders cannot be reset, even if your credit card number is no longer valid. Once your music is unlocked, you may print as many copies as you would like. If your printed music has some text or music cut off on the sides, select "scale to fit" in the print options dialogue box.

Returns & Replacements

Because you are receiving digital sheet music, we have a NO RETURN policy. If, however, there is a problem with your order and you receive a corrupted file or do not receive the file, contact customer service in order to arrange for a replacement file to be emailed to you.

Ordering

All the sheet music sold on NewMusicalTheatre.com is digital. Purchasing your sheet music digitally allows you to access your order immediately and save a copy to print again in the future. When you order sheet music, you will receive a confirmation email at the email address that you’ve registered with NewMusicalTheatre.com within about five minutes. Be sure to check your spam filter! Once you’ve received the confirmation email, you can download your sheet music either by clicking on the confirmation email link or by going to your account and clicking “Download My Sheet Music.” You can download a piece of sheet music up to three times. 

Payment, Pricing & Promotions

NewMusicalTheatre.com accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, as well as NMT claim codes. Pricing is determined by the author of the sheet music in consultation with NewMusicalTheatre.com.

When using a promotional code, please take note of the items you’re buying as well as the artist you’re buying them from, as some promotions are restricted to certain items and/or artists. To qualify for a specific promotion, your order must be placed during the specified promotion period. We are unable to apply special discounts to items ordered before or after the dates of a promotional offer.

Downloading and Viewing Orders

Once you have placed an order, it cannot be undone. Once you’ve ordered a piece of sheet music, you will receive an email confirmation at the email address that you’ve registered with NewMusicalTheatre.com. You can download each song a total of three times. Each time you open your downloaded sheet music, you have to enter your credit card number (with no dashes or spaces) as a password. You can always view your pending and recent orders by logging in and clicking on My Account.

Troubleshooting Orders and Downloads

My credit card number didn’t work as a password. What should I do?

Please make sure you are correctly entering the same credit card number you used to place your order. If you are sure that you are correctly entering the appropriate credit card without dashes or spaces, the problem may be with your PDF software. Older versions of some PDF readers don't allow the password function, which can prevent you from opening your download. To update your PDF software, you can download a PDF reader for free, such as Adobe, Preview (for Mac) or Foxit (for PC), or updates to these programs. If you’ve updated your PDF software and are still unable to open your music, please contact us.

I tried to place an order, but I got taken back to my cart. Was my order processed? 

In most cases, that means your order was not processed. However, before submitting your order a second time, please contact us and we will investigate. 

Why can’t I save my download?

Due to the password function of the sheet music, your PDF reader will not allow you to save your music through the usual “command-S” process. However, the file is saved to your computer automatically through the download process. You can find your sheet music or songbook in your Downloads folder – or any other location on your computer where you can usually find files downloaded from the internet. From there, you can drag your music onto your desktop or into any other folder with your mouse. 

Can you transpose my music? 

NewMusicalTheatre.com does not offer transpositions at this time. Many popular songs are available for purchase in multiple keys, and more keys are added as requests come in. If you're torn between two different keys and have questions about a range before purchasing a song, please email customerservice [at] newmusicaltheatre.com and we'd be happy to help you out. 

I never received a confirmation email / My confirmation email does not have a link to download my music. How can I access my download?

If you haven’t received a confirmation email in your inbox, please check your spam folder. Please also make sure you’re checking the same email address associated with your NewMusicalTheatre.com account.

You can access your downloads at any time by logging into your NewMusicalTheatre.com account and clicking “Download My Sheet Music,” which is located near the top of the gray menu bar on the left side of the page (in the “My Account” section of the menu). 

If you cannot locate your downloads within your NewMusicalTheatre.com account and you also did not receive a confirmation email, your order may not have gone through. Please contact us and we'd be happy to confirm whether we've received your order. 

I clicked the "Forgot My Password" link - when can I expect a new password to be emailed to me?

If a new password is not sent to you within a few minutes, please contact us and we can help you out. 


Updating Account Information

You can easily update your account information by logging in and clicking on My Account. There, you can edit your billing information as well as your newsletter preferences, etc.

Information for Writers

Writers are added to NewMusicalTheatre.com on a rolling basis. Writers interested in becoming a part of NewMusicalTheatre.com should fill out this form

Please note that we are not currently adding writers to NewMusicalTheatre.com. As we determine what is the most efficient way to grow the number of writers and songs while maintaining our commitment to providing individualized support to all of the writers on the site, we are reevaluating the application and selection processes. However, writers who submit the above form can expect a response within 3-6 months.

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

The Information We Collect:
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on NewMusicalTheatre.com. On some pages, you can order products, make requests, and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected at these pages are:

The Way We Use Information:
We use the information you provide about yourself when placing an order only to complete that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input.

We reveal only the last four digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing.

Our Commitment To Children’s Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.
