Name: Brandon Magid
What do you do outside of blogging? I’m a Musical Director, Pianist, Vocal Coach, and Educator.
Favorite musical:
youth: The King and I. Because what six year old doesn’t like getting “spray tanned” and their hair dyed black?
teen: Side Show, so NOT Rent. Let’s just say I’m more of an Alice Ripley than Adam Pascal.
current me: American in Paris. J’adore. Paris was even more romantic than that Sex and the City Finale. #SJPlease
What are you interested in blogging about this summer? MT audition techniques, including collaborating with your audition accompanist; Digging deep into MT training options in NYC; Where to get your favorite coffee, green juice, or yoga class when you’re in a rush or on a budget.
What are your non-theater interests? I’m a dreamer, reader, playlist-maker, yogi, and *cough cough* recovering vegan foodie.
Favorite contemporary MT song: “Lost in the Brass” from BAND GEEKS! (holler at those Lindsay Mendez rifftinas.)
