Meet the Bloggers: Katie Dudenas

This fall, The Green Room is thrilled to welcome a fantastic group of new bloggers to our team. For the rest of the week, you can get to know them through our Meet the Bloggers series.

Name: Katie Dudenas

What do you do outside of blogging? I am working on a degree in Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Favorite musical: I always go back to The King and I. Mostly because of my all-time total-favorite dream role Anna Leonowens, and because “March of the Siamese Children” is just one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written.

What are you interested in blogging about this fall? I don’t have a lot of expertise as anything other than an enthusiast and supporter, so my blogging will mostly be thinly-disguised fangirling. I’m a big fan of comedy, and I love how well musical theatre and comedy work together.

What are your non-theater interests? I love to play the piano. I’m also attempting to learn how to bake, and I spend too much time watching HGTV (I’m talkin Property Brothers, any day of the week).

Favorite NMT song: This one’s a tie: I equally love Pasek and Paul’s “Along the Way” (Aaron Tveit kills it) and Kerrigan-Lowdermilk’s “Run Away With Me” (Jeremy Jordan’s version is fantastic). Ooh, and the entire score of Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 — so, three-way tie 🙂
