Meet the Bloggers: Olivia Rubino-Finn
Winter is coming, and with it comes a new team of bloggers for The Green Room! We're so excited to welcome them to the blog and to introduce them to you all this week. Get to know two new bloggers today, and click here to read previous installments of the Meet the Bloggers series, too.
Name: Olivia Rubino-Finn
What do you do outside of blogging? I work in the commercial theatre industry. Otherwise, you can find me reading, writing, producing, and traveling.
Favorite musical: I'm going to cheat and give two answers: first, Les Misérables, because it was my gateway show and exists at the intersection of my primary interests in life (musical theatre, historical/sociological theory, and radical politics); and second, Fun Home, because it tells a story of remarkable beauty and significance while challenging our conceptions of form & content in musical theatre without ever compromising or pandering.
What are you interested in blogging about this winter? Theatre through the lens of radical feminist politics, new musicals that break boundaries, theatre as activism, and the business of commercial theatre.
What are your non-theater interests? Feminism, politics, literature, pop culture, Food Network shows, and cats.
Favorite contemporary MT song: "No One Else" from Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 by Dave Malloy, and "Thinking" from Futurity by César Alvarez & the Lisps.
