Meet the Bloggers: Philippa Boyes
This fall, The Green Room is thrilled to welcome a fantastic group of new bloggers to our team. For the rest of the week, you can get to know them through our Meet the Bloggers series.
Name: Philippa Boyes
What do you do outside of blogging? I’m a college student which roughly translates to classes, Netflix, and taking Buzzfeed quizzes.
Favorite musical: I hate choosing. I have four that I fluctuate between depending on my mood…for now I’m going with A Chorus Line. It was the first cast album I ever fell in love with. I love that every character has a story and a moment, and that the music was something brand new to be heard on Broadway. And the “Hello 12, Hello 13” montage is basically the most thrilling choreography ever, in my opinion.
What are you interested in blogging about this fall? I’m interested exploring in new musical theatre as it relates to more classic musical theatre, and in how it all affects younger people in school now– where do they learn about theatre, what excites them? Also, let’s all make more lists of musical theatre songs.
What are your non-theater interests? …I don’t understand the question. Non-theater interests include NBC sitcoms, random biographies, feminism, supermarket shopping, skiing.
Favorite NMT song: Joey Is A Punk Rocker, performed by Ali Gordon (I’m obsessed with her “I’m sorry Jesus!”).
