ADAM SAYS: Not too long ago, I was passed this great video of Jim Hogan, then a student at Penn State, performing “Seeing You There.” For me, it’s an example of a really terrific musical theater performance — look how he uses every single lyric, and makes it seem like he’s discovering them on the spot. And of course, he sounds great.
Favorite audition tip: Create a sense of dialogue even if you’re performing a solo song — it’s that ability to communicate and react and be in the moment that brings a performance to life!
