Favorite audition tip: Make strong choices when you perform your songs. Decide who you’re singing to and what you want to say. Keep your focus straight out and don’t look at the people who are auditioning you. If you’re singing a ballad, stay grounded and keep still. Show off your voice but don’t push. Make sure your music is well marked and in the key that you sing the song in. (Don’t ask your accompanist to transpose it for you.) Most importantly, invest in the song and put your heart into it.

Recommended female audition song: I’M NOT

Great audition song! It’s also great for contests, cabaret, recitals and concerts.
