In 1953, Tom and Aggie Hurley reeling from the recent death of their son, face their daughter, Janey's, impending marriage. Janey and her fiance Ralph want a simple city hall ceremony, but Aggie decides to spend the money her husband has been saving to buy his taxicab on a lavish wedding.

A Catered Affair, with music and lyrics by John Bucchino and a book by Harvey Fierstein, ran on Broadway for 116 performances in 2008.
