Jumping back and forth in time over three decades, the musical concerns fraternal twins, Derek and Reagan. They discover that there are two things no one can ever escape: time and family. Reagan is a songwriter at a breaking point. The irony of being openly gay while gigging as a wedding singer (when gay marriage wasn’t yet legal), along with the irony of covering other people’s songs for a living finally is too much and she snaps. Sarah Beth Pfeifer sings, “Marking” on the EP “Smart Girls.”
