A physicist, Max who, after being rejected by the scientific community and betrayed by the love of his life, accepts an offer from a right-wing organization to move to Kentucky and head up a newly planned Creation Museum. Max's cynical decision takes a surprising turn when he falls in love, makes promises he can't keep, and becomes deeply connected to people who, at first glance, seem completely unlike himself.
