BJ has only ever loved one man. RICHARD was a playwright, a beautiful, magnetizing man with a drinking problem. Years after the end of their relationship, BJ is still too scared to fall in love again. In this flashback to 1980 New York City, RICHARD is trying to get BJ to go to the Chelsea piers and make love by the water. BJ is uncomfortable having sex in public. He doesn't understand why RICHARD isn't happy just having sex at home. BJ is scared that he isn't adventurous enough for him. RICHARD drunkenly begs him to just give this a try.
