ENTER NMT’S VERY FIRST COSTUME CONTEST! 

As a theater nerd, growing up, I always faced the problem that precisely no one understood my super-awesome-musical-theater-reference-y Halloween costumes. If you’ve always been less “I’m a witch” and more “I’m Elphaba,” we get you.

And with Halloween around the corner, now seems like the perfect time to tell you that NMT has an instagram. We’re so excited to fill it with all kinds of behind-the-scenes pictures and videos but right now, it’s very lonely. There’s no better way to launch it than with a Halloween Costume Contest!

Here’s how to enter:

1. Think of a costume related to NMT in some way.
   It could be a character from an NMT song or musical (check out last year’s top picks for inspiration), or you can think outside the box. If you love “Run Away With Me,” for example, you could dress up as Sam or Adam or a car or Jack Kerouac or [insert reference here]. The sky’s the limit.
2. Dress up in that costume and take a photo of it.
3. Post that photo on instagram. If you want to enter the contest, you must tag @newmusicaltheatre, use the hashtag #NMTcostumecontest, and include the name of the song or show in the description.

There will be two winners: one whose photo gets the most likes, and one that’s NMT’s choice. Each winner will get one free piece of NMT sheet music of their choosing.

You can enter until October 30, and the winners will be announced right here on October 31.
