I know this woman.

Her name is Kate.

She is a warrior. A warrior, I tell ya. She’s a warrior for the arts. For theatre. For dance. For music. For film. She’s a warrior for expression. She’s a warrior for people – people from all different walks of life.

And she’s most certainly a warrior for women.

A champion, if you will.

Kate (Kate Mueth) is the type of woman who has an infectious energy. She’s positive. She’s vibrant. She loves each and every person who comes across her path. She makes you want to be a better artist. She makes you want to be a better person. She makes you want to live life more boldly. Fearlessly.

When Kate Mueth asks you to come onboard as a producer for anything she’s working – you say yes. There is no other answer.

For those of you who don’t know, Kate Mueth is an Actor’s Equity member who works as an actress, director and choreographer in theatre, TV and independent films. Ms. Mueth is in her seventh year as founder and Artistic Director of Neo-Political Cowgirls, a not-for-profit women’s dance theatre company committed to making exciting theatrical work for women, telling women’s stories, and leading workshops for girls and women in choreographing what they care about. NPC has created a number of site-specific works, including ZIMA!, Voyeur, Trojan Women Redux and Wody Girtch Mama. The last two summers, NPC mounted EVE, a groundbreaking immersive dance theater experience which won Dan’s Papers’ “Best of the Best” award for the best event in the Hamptons, summer 2012. NPC also was honored with “Best Theater Company” for the Dan’s Papers annual award.

While her credits could span a hefty novel, EVE is what I’ve come aboard to work on.

What is EVE (the production, of course)?

EVE explores themes of primal humanity, innocent discovery, sex, deep wanting, chaos, wealth feeding into self-obsession and terrible loss, which leads to new found strength. EVE is a groundbreaking theatrical production for mature audiences who want to immerse themselves into a wildly unique experience, and it’s coming to The Gym at Judson in September.

One week from today, you can contribute to production costs for EVE, as well as to The Retreat, a domestic violence shelter nestled in the heart of the East End of Long Island – a safe haven for those who need it most. And you can do all that while enjoying an evening of awesome music.

Ladies of Eve is an evening celebrating the female spirit and all her glory. Produced and directed by yours truly, with musical direction by Nat Zegree, the evening features performances by Jessica Vosk (Finding Neverland, Bridges of Madison County), Loni Ackerman (Cats, Evita), Anna Ty Bergman, Melanie Brook, Daisy Eagan (The Secret Garden), Kasie Gasparini (Mamma Mia), Kerri George, Molly Hager (Heathers), Melissa Rose Hirsch (The Bad Years), Jessica Kahkoska, Elyssa Brette Mactas (MEAN The Musical), Ellyn Marie Marsh (Kinky Boots), Kailey Marshall, Ashley Moniz, Monet Julia Sabel, Ariana Sepluveda, Stephanie Turci, Olivia Polci, Maddy Trumble (Newsies), and Michelle Ventamilla (The Visit).
